My new friends ~ Updated 6 weeks later

I was pleasantly surprised when I looked up and saw these cute little guys this morning. It's the biggest clutch I've had here. 9 chicks in all. There are a lot of predators around right now so I hope momma can hold on to at least a few.

Paulina,
My professor friend says they are the "Lophortyx californicus" or California Quail. We also have a large population of them here in Oregon.

and Russ, the photos are a Friday morning joy!! Muchisima gracias.

Exactly. Ergo, I stand by my original post: El Nido in Loreto. And, may I suggest a half-order of gordoniz with a half- of Piernas de Rana, they will accommodate. A fine Merlot or Cabernet from their cellars go well too. They stock only Reserve wines, a bottle costs almost (if not more) than your entrée. Wonderfully delicious!
