Wow you did it. Ive been testing for months. No bueno
Dave, I found out it has to have the actual filename in the URL. It won't show from a Google Drive account. You do need to resize to 130 pixels wide
by 150 tall (or within those sizes) to fit in the area provided. o3dave - 5-21-2015 at 03:07 PM
Im not giving up on this. Trying a few different sizes out . Yes all are 150x112 or smaller o3dave - 5-21-2015 at 03:08 PM
Still nothing. A photo from photobucket. I tried email and IM, direct, IMG and HTML.David K - 5-21-2015 at 05:17 PM
The photo from Photobucket must be uploaded at the smallest size (for avatars, 150 kb, I think?). It is that IMG tag that you paste here, not a
standard photo tag. I sent a note to Doug to see if there is something weird going on.o3dave - 5-21-2015 at 05:33 PM
So the image is 120x90 and using the DIRECT image link from photobucket is the trick. Thanks for your help as always DK

OK BornFisher, how did you break the DaVinci code?
I am still with no avatars or photos. Someone, please walk me through it.

Do you have a photo hosting preference, i.e. Facebook.com or ???
Many (most?) here and on other forums I participate in use Facebook.com. It is free, allows you to upload photos to it from your PC pictures folder at
a reduced for Internet posting or avatar making size.
Your photos are unharmed on your PC and only altered for size on Photobucket.
After you register there, create an album (other than the basic bucket to easily manage finding photos) for each trip or subject. Perhaps just one
called 'Baja Nomad' for photos you want to share here or other forums?
When you click the UPLOAD button, a pop up box will appear and in the corner is a small gear symbol. Click on it for upload size selection.
The next pop up are the various sizes to show you photos. Nomad MAXIMUM size is 800x600 pixels, so click that for full screen photos otherwise 640x480
is a nice size that is not the full width of the Nomad page. To not pre-select these sizes would leave it at 1,024 pixels wide, and that causes
difficult viewing and reading for many here, as the photo and text will be off the screen.
CLICK SAVE and then begin uploading photos!
The AVATAR (only) requires you to upload at the 100x75 setting... so do that, and then go back to the regular photo sizing for the rest. Click SAVE
after you change the upload size.
Your album will have the photos and with them some links to copy and paste here on Nomad. USE the IMG link!!! Nothing more to show a photo here. You
can post many photos and have captions or stories between the photos. If just photos, I recommend double spacing between the IMG links so they are not
too crowded looking.

I used photobucket. Resized the photo to 100x133.
Copied the "DIRECT" link (look to right side).
Clicked on my Nomad username and got to "edit profile"
Above the big "bio" box you will see the avatar box.
Paste the direct link.
go to bottom of page and click "edit"
So simple even a Baja Nomad cave man can do it!!David K - 8-15-2015 at 08:25 PM
Thanks for mentioning the Direct link for the avatar! Yes indeed! IMG link for the regular pics. Doug did my avatar.Howard - 8-16-2015 at 09:41 AM

Nice Howard. Howard - 8-16-2015 at 09:43 AM

Now THAT is a bird dog. David K - 8-16-2015 at 02:55 PM

Where?
Photobucket has a 100x75 choice that works here. All of us want you to succeed, so don't give up!Howard - 8-16-2015 at 05:45 PM
How about now?Howard - 8-16-2015 at 05:48 PM
Is it still to big? I think I was confusing the height with the width.
Do you do photos in the same manner?David K - 8-16-2015 at 06:36 PM
Perfect to my eyes!!
Good job Howard! BornFisher - 8-16-2015 at 07:09 PM
Stoked for you Howard!! Never seen an avatar like yours!!
That code is hard to crack, but can be done!!!!Howard - 8-16-2015 at 08:14 PM
I feel like such a winner! Now on to the real Mount Everest of Baja Nomads, posting a picture.
I think I need to rest up for that one.David K - 8-17-2015 at 08:01 AM
What happened Howard???
Avatar was there last night???Howard - 8-17-2015 at 08:53 AM
I did nothing and it is gone! No idea what happened. Maybe Doug doesn't like bird dogs?
I did it over again and it is back up.

It flew back to the coop!! Mind of its own, that bird dog!!David K - 8-17-2015 at 09:18 AM
OK Howard, it's back... Now for regular photo sharing, on Photobucket, click the UPLOAD button at the top of that page, or make a unique album for the
subject, then click upload at the top.
Next, click the gear symbol in the corner of the box (I showed it above) and pick 800 for full size or 640 for large size (on Nomad), click SAVE.
Now just upload all the photos you may want to share here to your album.
To put on Nomad, choose the IMG link, copy and paste it on the Nomad posting page, along with any comments or text. Repeat as needed. Double spacing
between IMG links suggested.Howard - 8-17-2015 at 10:06 AM
When pasting it to the subject part (I guess it's the one then I am writing here) does it first come up as the picture or the link?
