Dave, I found out it has to have the actual filename in the URL. It won't show from a Google Drive account. You do need to resize to 130 pixels wide
by 150 tall (or within those sizes) to fit in the area provided.

The photo from Photobucket must be uploaded at the smallest size (for avatars, 150 kb, I think?). It is that IMG tag that you paste here, not a
standard photo tag. I sent a note to Doug to see if there is something weird going on.

OK BornFisher, how did you break the DaVinci code?
I am still with no avatars or photos. Someone, please walk me through it.

Do you have a photo hosting preference, i.e. Facebook.com or ???
Many (most?) here and on other forums I participate in use Facebook.com. It is free, allows you to upload photos to it from your PC pictures folder at
a reduced for Internet posting or avatar making size.
Your photos are unharmed on your PC and only altered for size on Photobucket.
After you register there, create an album (other than the basic bucket to easily manage finding photos) for each trip or subject. Perhaps just one
called 'Baja Nomad' for photos you want to share here or other forums?
When you click the UPLOAD button, a pop up box will appear and in the corner is a small gear symbol. Click on it for upload size selection.
The next pop up are the various sizes to show you photos. Nomad MAXIMUM size is 800x600 pixels, so click that for full screen photos otherwise 640x480
is a nice size that is not the full width of the Nomad page. To not pre-select these sizes would leave it at 1,024 pixels wide, and that causes
difficult viewing and reading for many here, as the photo and text will be off the screen.
CLICK SAVE and then begin uploading photos!
The AVATAR (only) requires you to upload at the 100x75 setting... so do that, and then go back to the regular photo sizing for the rest. Click SAVE
after you change the upload size.
Your album will have the photos and with them some links to copy and paste here on Nomad. USE the IMG link!!! Nothing more to show a photo here. You
can post many photos and have captions or stories between the photos. If just photos, I recommend double spacing between the IMG links so they are not
too crowded looking.
As always, I am here to help!

I used photobucket. Resized the photo to 100x133.
Copied the "DIRECT" link (look to right side).
Clicked on my Nomad username and got to "edit profile"
Above the big "bio" box you will see the avatar box.
Paste the direct link.
go to bottom of page and click "edit"
So simple even a Baja Nomad cave man can do it!!

I thought I resized it to 100 X130 but obviously not. Will try again later before I totally give up.
