Looking at the second Google Earth image, there is a "San Gregorio" north of the point in question.

Is that the San Gregorio Rancho southwest of Bahia de los Angeles....or another San Gregorio?

If so, it looks like a great area to explore.....

A rock? I think the question was what not where?

The San Gregorio area is a great place to explore. One of the highlights near by is the abandoned san Juan mine. Simply amazing what they were able to do a hundred years ago and the amount of large equipment they were able to get up there.

most likely a jet going through the picture - it's not on the latest NASA images

Ged, there is a San Gregorio south of San Juanico as well. Just in case you need a second place to explore.

Isn't that the plane wreck discussed here a couple years ago?
