Here is the website I got the info from and it has a very neat animation of what we will see.

What a good excuse for a margarita party, eh?

Thanks for details. (The moon is already very bright tonight, even here in San Diego.)

bajabuddha - 9-26-2015 at 08:14 PM

Was posted on national web, and also wasn't mentioned the time on Pacific, Mountain, Mountain Standard (AZ), Central, or Eastern time zones. How about an update? Baja has two time zones. I think.

BTW, a Mor(m)on author is touting it's a 'sign of the apocalypse", so should be fun to watch. If the Angel maroooni blows his horn there'll be Sky Rat (pigeon) chit all over Salt Lake City all the way to Draper. I'm gonna watch it with a martini in the hot tub; hope you all enjoy it too!

Rises in Mulege Sunday night at 6:44pm

I took this pic at 7:15 tonight

willy -that is a beautiful photo

the moon has been just gorgeous the last couple days and todays should be just as spectacular.

Buddha - the information I posted is for BAJA SUR

If you punch in the city you want (on the site I posted), it will give you the schedule for that particular area.

BajaBlanca - 9-27-2015 at 11:36 AM

Just for fun: Does anyone know, without looking it up, why the moon turns red?

Please... post some/more photos... sky fully obscured here in las vegas

Same reason sunset and sunrise are red-orange: Rayleigh scattering

Ateo - 9-27-2015 at 07:13 PM

It's looking bad arse here in Oceanside.

David K - 9-27-2015 at 07:18 PM

Dark moon here in San Marcos too! Shall I take a pic?

So sorry, I recently upgraded to Windows 10, and I have no idea what happened to the photo I emailed to myself from my phone camera... Let's just say the moon is really darkened out and just a corner has a reddish glow.

The UPSIDE to Air Pollution...............

MrBillM - 9-27-2015 at 07:55 PM

Is that it makes for scenic sunsets.

Aren't we LUCKY ?

AKgringo - 9-27-2015 at 08:56 PM

No moon in Anchorage tonight, it's raining. Forecast is for snow Tuesday!

I think I better head south!

And one more big thumbs up for Willy's moon shot!

To the Moon!

BajaBlanca - 9-28-2015 at 05:09 AM

great that you posted pics Willy because I did not take any. It was so clear out - the sky was perfect for viewing the eclipse and a blood moon it was!

Les and I were wondering if we'll be here in 33 when it happens again....I say yes!

shari - 9-28-2015 at 07:00 AM

Great photos Willy...we gathered at Beth's place which faces east to watch this fantastic spectacle! It was absolutely stunning to watch it all through quality binoculars...the colours were otherworldly...that plum turning to deep peach below was breathtaking. I am so glad we witnessed it!

then when it was half over, the plum turned to a burnt orange and looked like...yes amigos...a comb over...the Trump moon! wow...oh geeze...now I've gone and done it...this political thing is catching.

David K - 9-28-2015 at 08:07 AM

Thank you Willy!

Meany - 9-28-2015 at 08:22 AM

Great shots Willy. Very cloud here. So your shots nice to see.:bounce::bounce:

BajaBlanca - 9-28-2015 at 01:42 PM

It really was spectacular from Baja. No one else took pics?

toneart - 9-28-2015 at 04:37 PM

Wow...those are great photos, Willy!

Last night I took Blanca's suggestion and went to a Mexican Restaurant here in Grass Valley and had a Margarita.

The sky had been cloudy last night, and I was afraid we wouldn't get to see it. At the announced time for the full eclipse here, I went outside and sure'nuff, the sky cleared and we did indeed see that beautiful Big A$$ Red Moon!

I am still waiting for the "end of the world" to happen though. I mentioned this to people within earshot of me at the bar (where I also ate). Some looked at me all weird like :O and others downright up and moved away from me. ;) My parting shot to them as they scurried was, "Hey! I ain't even Mormon". Ya just can't get respect anymore for being a religion denier.:(

AKgringo - 9-28-2015 at 04:45 PM

Tony, Was that 'Maria's'? They serve a great Carne Asada! Very good Baja style breakfast as well.

Yep!

BajaBlanca - 9-28-2015 at 07:55 PM

perfect night for margaritas!

shari - 9-29-2015 at 06:49 AM

as we were gathered to watch this historical event, the conversation naturally led to wondering what people thought in times of old..before internet and news sources announced these astronomical events....
when my phone rang and an alarmed Juan my husband asked me..."Wasnt it supposed to be a full moon tonight?" He was confused and worried as he stepped outside to marvel at the full moon...and saw only a half moon!!! He didnt know about the eclipse and was relieved when he heard that was what was happening!

DavidT - 9-29-2015 at 05:16 PM

Cloudy here, couldn't even see the moon. That was all the small group of super moon deniers needed. To them that reinforced the belief that their opinion was actually fact.
Two of them said the moon was really a liberal government plot to take away our freedoms.
One claimed the lib government actually took the moon to give all the cheese to the welfare queens and illegal immigrants.

AKgringo - 9-29-2015 at 05:24 PM

All right David.....this thread is good for another 14 or 15 pages now!

Now how could they get all that cheese when we all know that they never went to the moon ---- that was another big government lie to gain money and control by these mysterious liberal organizations.

And now we have to deal with more of those unscrupulous scientists who want us to believe there might be water on Mars!
