rts551 - 5-4-2017 at 03:38 PM

del mar - 5-4-2017 at 10:22 PM

Cooool....im buying one!

BajaBlanca - 5-5-2017 at 06:48 AM

That is a great sign!

woody with a view - 5-5-2017 at 07:10 AM

Are they rusted or is that silk screened?

TedZark - 5-6-2017 at 03:18 PM

The bullet holes are cool, but they say the sign is fake.

When's the last time you saw a real sign here with bullet holes in it?

Arizona, yes. Baja? Probably not.

Nonetheless, cool sign and I'd be happy to put it in my garage.

TedZark - 5-6-2017 at 03:23 PM

And, forgive my ignorance, but where would you be that would be 1200km (800 miles + or - ) from Ensenada and 2000km or 1200 miles from Cabo? That would have to be somewhere on the mainland? Way east on the mainland or even out in the Gulf of Mexico?

Willing to admit my ignorance if you can explain the distances. Even more impossible in miles.

No?

Or is it just the vodka?

Or am I just sucker to bite that someone thought it was real?? Okay, just a nube here...?

Educate me you hard core Bajaeros... Or Bajamians... or...

Its that Baja Haze...

TedZark - 5-6-2017 at 03:27 PM

I like that haze.

Okay, I see Ensenada TO Cabo... but still, where might this sign be?

TedZark - 5-6-2017 at 03:38 PM

Mexicali? Tecate?

willardguy - 5-6-2017 at 07:21 PM

maybe you missed the heading "souvenir NORRA road sign"....
you can find them on "race desert.com" in plastic or metal.

The sign represents the route we ran this year. The kilometer on the first line is the distance. The subsequent line I believe are the miles...I would have to go back to the paperwork and check. It is not a sign that is found on a Baja hwy.

If I had the time I would provide a map, GPS coordinates, pictures and a guide......or maybe not.

David K - 5-6-2017 at 07:31 PM

The font and bullet damage mimics the Auto Club diamond signs that once provided Baja travelers with directions an distances at major forks in the old dirt roads that crisscrossed the peninsula. There are some photos of some posted.

Rathet than the first line being a kilometer figure with the others being mile figures, maybe it is the YEAR... 2017 maybe Ralph???

Could be...it also equates to the kilometers we ran. But you are probably correct.

David K - 5-6-2017 at 07:40 PM

It is funny, but 2017 kms is pretty close to the total miles, too! 1250 miles.

bajaguy - 5-6-2017 at 08:38 PM

There was some info posted here a or Talk Baja (with photos) a while back of replica Auto Club Baja signs that could have the text/destinations customized

Is nonsensical to print an email addy on a faux antique, eh?

yeah absolutely...

StuckSucks - 6-6-2017 at 05:10 PM

Got mine today and it exceeded my expectations - I ordered a metal one for a friend and me. Agreed - first thing, the email gets painted over/removed.

TedZark - 6-6-2017 at 05:22 PM

One of those would look great in my garage. I don't think my wife would allow it the living room, which is really where it should go.

Does it have real bullet holes and rust?

Ditto with me and the living room thing. Bullet holes are real holes, rust is fake. All new signs. Might get mounted next to a TT hood (7' wide) hanging in my garage.

BigBearRider - 6-6-2017 at 09:43 PM

Looks great. Does anyone have an actual link to where they are sold?

StuckSucks - 6-7-2017 at 12:51 PM
