I have 2 Honda EU2000i gens with parallel cables (Home Depot $40). Don't know anything about Predator -- parameters between the two are close.
Predator price is attractive but don't know about longevity and quality. I abuse my Hondas and they always start and run at about 11 years old.
The Honda has the Eco-Throttle feature I like that throttles down when there's no load. I've tested sound at about 50dB. Pure sine wave is
critical for electronics and didn't want to test other gen inverters on any devices -- so far no problems with Honda. Without lots of reviews
and/or tests, don't know how the Predator will hold up. Got the Hondas based on reputation alone. About twice the price of the Predator.
Guess a lot depends on what you use the gen for and how long you'll have it.
Personally, I wouldn't buy a gen inverter thinking I'd just get another one if there were a problem. When I need my gen, I really need it and
don't want problems. Dependability is worth something. |
