Harbor Freight 2000i genny?

Coupon for $429. I own the Honda 2000 and I now many of us do, but just wondering if anyone has one of these.

That's sad, what makes people think that they are entitled to someone else's stuff?

Makes no sense tome to buy something that you count on being no good. When it fails in Baja during a hurricane, you just run to your nearest harbor freight and get another one..??? Gimme a break..

I suppose you could buy two (for the price of a honda) and have a back up or an extra for a neighbor in need?

actually its pretty small

a 1600w generator is made to run at 800w

a coffee pot uses 1200-1500w
and you NEED coffee in a hurricane

its almost useless

I have 2 Honda EU2000i gens with parallel cables (Home Depot $40). Don't know anything about Predator -- parameters between the two are close. Predator price is attractive but don't know about longevity and quality. I abuse my Hondas and they always start and run at about 11 years old.

The Honda has the Eco-Throttle feature I like that throttles down when there's no load. I've tested sound at about 50dB. Pure sine wave is critical for electronics and didn't want to test other gen inverters on any devices -- so far no problems with Honda. Without lots of reviews and/or tests, don't know how the Predator will hold up. Got the Hondas based on reputation alone. About twice the price of the Predator.

Guess a lot depends on what you use the gen for and how long you'll have it.

Personally, I wouldn't buy a gen inverter thinking I'd just get another one if there were a problem. When I need my gen, I really need it and don't want problems. Dependability is worth something.

F*ck it.

He didn't say if it breaks within a year he said take it back and get a new one. I would like to see where in the policy it says "just come back in a year and we'll give you a new one"....just for the heck of it I guess? Maybe insurance fraud is ok with you after all it's a victimless crime, those insurance companies deserve to be screwed over right?
