What kind of documents would I HAVE to HAVE, to go down that far into Baja to be able to go to the BajaCactus Fiesta 2005. I have many different
stories. 1. drivers lic. and birth cer. 2. visa/passport. Very confused
I have never been asked for anything more than a drivers lic., but I have never been any farther than S.F. and Maneadaro. If I don't need anything
else that would be great. I thought I didn't need any other docs. unless I went into BCS. Thanks for any info.

If you want to have the proper paperwork, bring a proof of citizenship (birth cert. or passport for example) and pull over to Mexican secondary at the
border... walk up to the INM office and say you need a tourist card . If for 7 days or less, it is free (do tell them how long). If for 180 days tell
them to write it for 180 days and pay the $20 +/- at the teller next door, and bring the card back to INM for final stamp.
Nobody will ask you for this tourist card in Baja Norte (from my experiences).

We did ours in Ensenada its one stop shopping. Everyone was kind it took only a few mins. Enjoy Cyndarouh

Something that should be mentioned - if you don't have the proper tourist card/visa then your insurance will not be legally valid. You may - or may
not be covered.
So if you're going to an area that you legally should have a visa but you're pretty sure they won't check - get it anyway.
Or if there's a possibility you might stay more that 7 days.

Good info, but your tourist visa may be checked before the state line at Guerrero Negro, especially if you are in an accident. We have been checked on
some back roads by the military. Best to have it. Also the process for getting a tourist visa is quite simple at the border. Park in the
declaration lane, walk about 20 feet to the immigration office, fill out the form, walk another 20 feet to the bank, pay, walk back to immigration for
final stamp. You are on your way. Tecate is a bit more difficult as you must cross a two lane street across from the immigration office. Again, not
a problem.
