Construction of the San Felipe-Puertecitos-Laguna Chapala highway concludes.✅
SCT invested more than 2,553 million pesos in a 12-year period.
The Center of the Ministry of Communications and Transportation (SCT) in Baja California, reported that with the completion of the junction of the transpeninsular highway, the construction and modernization works of the San Felipe-Puertecitos-Laguna Chapala highway section are officially concluded, after 12 years of starting these works.
The SCT invested more than 2 thousand 553 million pesos (mp) in a period of 12 years, of which, the present federal administration injected resources for 685 mp, to conclude these works, which have a length of 201 kilometers and cross the municipalities of Mexicali and Ensenada.
The works consisted of the construction and modernization of 141 kilometers of new line with a crown width of 9 meters, in addition, 60 kilometers of the existing road with a width of 7 meters were rehabilitated.
A junction with the transpeninsular highway was also built in the Laguna Chapala area.
With this new highway section, users benefit from lower operating costs, greater safety and significant time savings that fluctuate in 5 hours, for those seeking to move to Mexicali, or to the south of the state compared to using the traditional route of the transpeninsular through the Pacific.
The SCT considers that this highway will be an economic and social trigger, by increasing activities such as tourism on the beaches to which today thanks to this infrastructure there are easy access, in addition to the flow of goods and the mining potential that exists in the area. zone.
It is for this reason that the SCT invites the residents of Baja California, as well as national and international tourists, to use this highway, which has great natural attractions.
One of the guidelines of the present administration is to finish the unfinished works that were abandoned for years, so it was a priority for the SCT Baja California Center to complete the San Felipe-Puertecitos-Laguna Chapala highway section.
