Rain today Jan 20, 2021? weather reports, pls

BajaBlanca - 1-20-2021 at 03:37 PM

We were expecting rain and wind but it was not so. Been really calm with breezes, temps cooler but comfortable, huge waves with dolphins, but no rain so far at 3:35 pm.

How about in your neck of the woods?

Here is a pic my friend took yesterday, right here in front of our house in the tiny village of La Bocana (near punta abreojos for those who are not familiar)

del mar - 1-20-2021 at 03:52 PM

lots of wind very little rain in rosarito, after 3 weeks of solid swell its back to ankle busters

Bajazly - 1-20-2021 at 04:00 PM

Rain on an off since yesterday in SF, much colder too. Forecast over 3" over the next 10 days as of yesterday afternoon. I'm thinking green ocotillos and hopefully carpets of wildflowers in the coming weeks.

jedge42 - 1-20-2021 at 04:29 PM

Here in the East Cape, we have had light rain on and off today, with somewhat heavier rain yesterday evening and overnight. No wind to speak of. Gray with sprinkles ahorita ...

Today, in San Diego County, they predicted rain and strong winds... but instead the sun is shining! There is a brush fire in Rancho San Diego now, however.

Great photo!

A few years ago I was surfing Mission Beach in SD, took off on a shoulder-high wave, and had a dolphin drop-in in front of me. Completely distracted me from what I was doing as I was fascinated by the dolphin just under the surface riding the wave. After about 5 or 10 seconds and I saw it jump out the back of the wave, just after that I got absolutely smashed by the lip of the wave as it closed out on me. Still one of my favorite experiences surfing.

Sunny and 67 in Central Cal.

On and off very light sprinkles in La Paz last couple days.

Skipjack Joe - 1-20-2021 at 07:22 PM

We had a downpour at Asuncion.

Include photos! They are so beautiful. Still waiting for the rain ... and i purposefully did NOT water my garden. I told Les, maybe I should water it so that it does rain!

JZ - 1-21-2021 at 05:45 AM

Wind finally died down. Was able to have a fire on the back patio last night.

San Felipe a mile from the water near KM178
Rain 0.75"on Tuesday, 0.75" on Wednesday

AKgringo - 1-21-2021 at 09:31 AM

The weather has been so mild where I am in Nevada County, that I only build a fire every evening. Normally in January I would let the fire burn down once or twice a week to empty the ashes, then build another one.

Sure would be good to get a few storms come ashore here to replenish the snow pack and water sources. It is just so hard to root against beautiful weather!

We had two seconds of sprinkles this morning!

LaPazGringo - 1-23-2021 at 10:20 AM

My wife and I drove from Yuma to GN on Tuesday, from GN to Constitucion on Wednesday and then to Los Cabos on Thursday.

We never saw the sun once from Yuma to La Paz and it rained non-stop from San Felipe to almost La Paz. Steady, non-stop rain the whole way. Hopefully the agricultural zones were happy to get the rain!

The desert is going to bloom! Wish I was going to be there to see it :(

JZ - 1-23-2021 at 11:31 AM

It rained a little here last night. Suppose to rain today.

Don Jorge - 1-23-2021 at 01:37 PM

Periods of moderate to heavy rain in south San Clemente.
Flower garden, showing a splash of mid winter color, is loving it.
Great for the Baja desert and spring bloom too. Looking forward to that display.

I guess that storm dumped all its rain on us here in Asuncion! Arroyos were running, houses flooded...lots of wet mattresses!

azucena - 1-23-2021 at 02:32 PM

Flooded in Las Pocitas as well.

David K - 1-23-2021 at 03:08 PM

Coming down non-stop rain this afternoon in North County San Diego.

WestyWanderer - 1-23-2021 at 04:57 PM

Report from the in-laws in Puertecitos is maybe 1 inch but it was rather spread out so no damage to report.

thebajarunner - 1-23-2021 at 05:21 PM

2 whole inches total here in Central Cal since last spring
the current "storm" dropped 3 one hundredths (.03") of an inch this weekend and its is bright and sunny this afternoon.
Man, this is bleak!!!

BajaBlanca - 1-23-2021 at 05:43 PM

Still no rain, not one drop, here in La Bocana BCS.

I am sorry for all the floods and flooded mattresses.

Don Jorge, what a beautiful garden!

Be careful what you root for!

It froze here yesterday in Grass Valley CA, then snowed down to 1500 feet elevation (I live at 2400). The temperature is supposed to head down to the low 20s tonight, then a strong system is due to push a series of gully washing rain storms through this area for at least the next week!

Oh well...I asked for it, I even washed my car to tempt the storm gods! I hope it is enough to top off my ponds which are usually full by this time of year.

Terry28 - 1-25-2021 at 09:44 AM

My youngest drove up to Big Bear this AM to snow board. No school today.

JZ - 1-25-2021 at 10:25 AM

We got snow in Malibu a few miles from us.

jamiec - 1-25-2021 at 11:17 AM

Snow in Malibu? That must have been a mess. When I lived in San Diego a tiny drizzle of rain would mean that I would pass 5 accidents on my 20-minute drive home from work.

Starting to look like there will be a 0% chance of work on Friday with this happening

del mar - 1-25-2021 at 11:57 AM

bit of wind in Primo Tapia.....

bajaric - 1-25-2021 at 03:15 PM

Wow!

Very windy and chilly in eastern San Diego today, some rain. Today, a north wind, due to center of low pressure over northern Baja.
I predict muddy conditions, with a chance of erosion.

BajaBlanca - 1-25-2021 at 08:43 PM

Still no rain. We did get some drizzle.

Wind but not too drastic.

I watered the yard.

JZ - 1-25-2021 at 09:33 PM

My kid driving up to Big Bear with his friends this AM. Had to put chains on his brother's Taco.

Their were able to snow board.
