Guardian Angel Island - Free eBook

Graham - 2-10-2021 at 08:59 PM

Finished my latest photo eBook – Guardian Angel Island!

Describes all my major trips to the island since my 2003 first trip over with 72-year-old Canadian, Cal Sherman in his 12-foot Valco aluminum boat.

So grateful to all those who helped me along the way.

Antonio Reséndiz in particular, but also Roger Silliman and Jean of Villa Bahia, Cal Sherman of course, Mike Essary who parachuted me a much-needed barrel of beer and kindly let me use his Bahia beach house for many trips, and Roberto and Efren Ocaña who reliably took me to the island and picked me up several times.

My biggest eBook ever - 400 color pictures, 415 pages. Was just glad I could upload it.

Paddy insisted I offer it for FREE. Tried to tell him that’s a lot of honey… He won.

FREE on Amazon Kindle for 4 more days. After that... will cost an arm and a leg. Enjoy.

I'm downloaded the free kindle edition from Amazon using the link you provided. Thank you so much for this generous gift to those of us who are vicariously traveling through your adventures!

Very Generous, I have enjoyed all of your books

Quick question
You thank Antonio Resendiz
Are you referring to young Tonio?
His dad, our long time close friend Antonio, died a couple years ago.
Just curious
great family, and really good people

So happy to be able to share these Baja Adventures. Enjoy.

The Antonio Resendiz referred to is Antonio senior. Before he passed he helped me in so many ways with the 2006 trip, the book "Marooned With Very Little Beer", and putting me in touch with many people who lived and worked on the island... especially those in the scallop camp and folks who helped install the decompression chamber out there after all the fatalities.

Have loved camping on the beach in Campo Archelon over the years, and great to see young Tony and Bety making it such a fascinating, welcoming place.

Thanks Graham for sharing your photo-filled eBook with us! I have also shared your Facebook post onto my Baja Missions group page and a few other Baja Facebook groups. You create reading treasures out of sand, lizards, and wild kitties!

gueribo - 2-11-2021 at 02:25 PM

Thank you so much! Looking forward to reading it.

That is one creepy looking cat.

John

AKgringo - 2-11-2021 at 03:44 PM

Here kitty kitty, here.....oh never mind!

Graham - 2-11-2021 at 05:26 PM

Yes, fishermen out there warned me about "vampire cats." That one was recently dead... maybe "undead."

Thanks David for all the posting... and the kind words.

HeyMulegeScott - 2-11-2021 at 07:09 PM

I sometimes think you are a little off your rocker with the bears but look forward to reading the book. Gracias!

Graham - 2-11-2021 at 11:00 PM

Yes, bearly sane... but had a wonderful Christmas with my amigos.

They really were into the spirit of the season! :)

Enjoy the book.

Awesome photos and book Graham. I'll buy the book.

First visited the island around 2001. At the Northern anchorage.

Took my teen kids to see it in 2018.

Thank you. The weather really cooperated that day. It was flat as glass on the water. Shot every thing in a couple hours.

Thanks for the ebook and thanks for the awesome video of the island. That water was indeed crystal clear and smooth as glass!

Terrific video JZ. Wonderful to see it so beautifully presented from on-high. Very different from my kayak perspective. Brought back so many memories.

It was a really superior video, yes!

David K - 2-20-2021 at 07:47 AM

Graham is headed back... to the island!

BajaMama - 2-20-2021 at 09:11 AM

In looking at the book I noticed the dead Humboldt squid - I remember that from 2006 in Punta Chivato. It was awful, hundreds of squid died and washed up on shore. Thank goodness someone had some teens around to bury them in the sand, the smell was horrendous. If I recall, it was a mating event that caused the die off?

BornFisher - 2-20-2021 at 11:12 AM

Thanks Graham, pics are great!

Maybe 5-6 years ago, there were hundreds of them on the beach in BoLA.

That is by far the best part of the island. Anyone who loves Baja has to go see it once. Breathtaking views.

Pic of the bay.

Pretty rough for a kayak. Hope he's in the bay behind one of the smaller islands.

He contacts a panga from town for transport to and from the island. The kayak is for close-to-shore travel.
