Current highway status

We just got back from Bahia (LA) and were amazed at how good the condition of all the highways.
Especially the usually notorious road in to Bahia from the Carreterra. It is smooth and not a chuckhole in sight.
All the highways, even MX3 up to Tecate, were in great shape.
Also, have others noted how clean the roadside is these days? There must be teams of cleanup crews.
We saw numerous crews whacking brush and weeds by hand clear down as far as Catvina.
Seems like a terrible waste of energy, one stout Weedeater would outwhack a dozen men.... not that they were not diligently wailing away.
