Mulege Cement Pier?
Is the cement pier near the runway secure for a few hours?
I would like to leave a 26' boat there and get fuel and food
in town, I know the tide is a problem, but I hope a few hours
would be ok. Is the gas station in Santa Rosalia still open
while the new one is being built?

No cement pier
You will be in about 3 feet of muck...around the ramp
You should anchor and use a shore boat.
Gas is just around the corner but a long long walk.
I'd set something up in advance to transport gas.
now santa rosalia has a pier...

Welcome to the Nomad Forum. I think you have a bunch of bad info. but you came to the right place to git the good stuff. tell us what you are doing
and ask lots of questions here on the Nomad forum.

ON way home 10th of April, saw the Santa Rosalia Pemex station under construction north of town a ways. Wonder if the same owner as down town will
be operating this one. Would be nice if Pemex awarded it to someone else who is "honest"!!!!!! Most likely the old one will be operating during the
construction. At least was operating the 10th.

The NEW santa rosalia gas station is just north of town...
They stopped working on it for a while....problems....
When it is finished and open you will be able to anchor in the water just across the street and load your gas cans....

Sorry to tell you this but I've been told that the new pemex in guerro negro, the pemex in San Ignacio are all owned by the same owner in Santa
Rosalia.

I have used the pier twice before with this boat, unless the tide is way
out there is enough water. The question was about security, is this
location secure from stay hands for a few hours? I am heading back to
San Carlos from there and I need to top off fuel and head into town. The info. I got on the Santo Rosalia station was good, I just needed
to know if I walk to the old station, will it still be open. Thanks, Bwayno

Maybe there is some name confusion here? The thread says Mulege, but it goes on more about Santa Rosalia. A runway? As in airstrip? That does sound
like Mulege.
The confussion began over 100 years ago when the French named their new copper mine town 'Santa Rosalia', which was/is the name of the mission and
river about 40 miles south (Mision y Rio Santa Rosalia de Mulege). The new, French Santa Rosalia became a big deal compared to the little village with
the oasis river and mission which uses the Indian name 'Mulege' over the Spanish name 'Santa Rosalia' in its full name of Santa Rosalia de Mulege.

Sorry, last time I looked I didn't see any boats up the Santa Rosalia river
near the airstrip. Next time I will be more precise. The gas station question
was an afterthought....

The old station in S.R. is open. The new station is north of downtown and is still under construction.
RE the pier, better moor over on the lighthouse side. It's more secure.

Ricardo Cota (Rice & Beans) has told me that the San Ignacio Pemex is not the same owner as the Sta. Rosalia ripoff station.He should know, as his
family has been in S. I. for generations.
Also, Jorge from Las Palmas RV says that Sr. Ripoff (I forget his name) also owns the highway Pemex in Mulege that has been cited in the papers last
year as shortselling by 15%
I am definitely waiting to hear who will run the new Sta. Rosalia station!!

Thanks for the info, But as of late I fillup at Insurgentes and am able to go to Guerro Negro. Unless bucking a lot of wind then Vizcaino.
