Mission Photos Updated

Besides my 'bajamissions' Facebook group I also post mission photos (and history) on two website... Facebook posts soon drop way down and can become hard to find. A webpage gives instant results to see and read what you seek.

One of my pages I call the 'quick look' missions page. It has primarily one photo of each, with facts and locations. The missions are listed from north to south, as you would travel south and may be able to visit. The visitas are on page 2 of the site: https://vivabaja.com/mission-site-photos/

The main mission pages at VivaBaja.com begin at: https://vivabaja.com/mssions1 (the Jesuit missions) with links there to missions2 (the Franciscan and Dominican missions), missions3 (visitas), and missions4 (satellite images, GPS). The missions are listed in the order of their founding, by date. Loreto is #1 and El Descanso is #27.

As I recently visited 8 mission sites, I have updated or added the new 2025 photos. In addition, someone on Facebook posted newer photos of Mission San Pedro Mártir. I asked if I could share one of them on my pages, and got an enthusiastic, YES!

San Pedro Mártir, in October 2024:

2024 photograph from Mundo Medina. Cenovio Gamboa Lazcano and Rogelio Serrano made the route possible for Mundo for him to get to the mission. https://www.facebook.com/sierrasanpedromartir for more on this mountain region.

Another new thing I am doing is making web pages for each mission, rather than seeing them with all the other 27 mission photos.
Today, I made a page for Mission San Miguel, the mission in today's La Misión, north of Ensenada.
Have a look: https://vivabaja.com/san-miguel/ and last week, for El Descanso: http://vivabaja.com/el-descanso
