I have only one thing I don't understand. what good comes from posting
anonymous it is so easy to get registered and sign in. I think that if your to ashamed to do that then you should not be able to post.
can anyone tell me what good comes from allowing posting
anonymous. isn't this the Nomad forum? then you should be a Nomad to post.

Bruce,
I know this has been a "bone of contention" for you here... but I'll tell you this. There are four forums I can think of off the top of my head that
allow anonymous postings, and here's why:
1. Q&A - This forum area was originally created to aid travelers by having a venue to answer their Baja travel questions. There are about 1700
registered users here at the moment, but now an average of about 8000 visitors per month. The reason: Baja travel information. Many have no
intention of being regular visitors, they just want some questions answered. By allowing posting without registration, that enables them to
accomplish such, and stays true to the original intent of this area of the site.
2. Suggestions, comments, issues - Sometimes people can't login, and need assistance. So, if they're having a problem, they can communicate that in
this forum appropriately.
3 & 4 - Baja News and Baja Travel Stories - Actually, there is a specific reason, but I can't post it in public. If it's really that much of a
curiosity, u2u me privately and I'll explain.
I will admit however, that forcing registration is an appealing thought at times, but the same type of abuse by anonymous posters that happens,
sometimes happens with usernames as well. Only at those times, the user had to go to greater lengths to gain the user account (anon email address,
etc).
AND, besides, even though YOU can't necessarily tell who the anon posters are, I have some information about them available to me anyway.

Also some people are computer challenged
They don't understand the protocol and don't know how to sign in.

Bruce, do you have a phobia against unregistered users ?
Do they cost you money ? Do you know the new (or old) Nomads any better because they have a name ?
Maybe anon just forgot to sign in or forgot their password when using another computer ? or some other eason ? Why care anyway ?
I know you are a cool, groovy, successful baja business guy who must have many better, even money-making things to be concerned with !?
Do you want the names of those who dissagree with you ?
Are you starting a hit list ? Should we lock our doors ?
Or are you starting a Christmas card list for those you admire ?
Maybe the good spellers ? Want our addresses ?
Since Pompano is gone and you are the closest thing, can we pick on you for a few months ? Just kidding; as is this whole post.
I'm thrilled you choose to post on this board.
Information, recipes, opinions....all good !
Thanks !!

well diver it seems you are more polite when you sign on as diver rather than a anonymous which is my whole point. Nomads fallow the rules but their
is no reason for anonymous posters to fallow the rules.
when you have 1700 people that obey the rules and 8000 that don't need to you are going to end up with a lot of insulting posts.

Bruce;
I have never, ever signed on as anon.
I always sign on for my posts.
I do not hide anything.
I would not act differently under any name.
I wonder what anon posts you thought I made ?
Apparently not good ones !
Thanks for the vote of human confidence.

I realize that some may hide behind the anon name but the posters that I have the most problems with are an "elite" registered user...
Not you, David !

Diver, I think Bruce meant in general ("if anyone signed in as their handle vs. as anon.")... He just used 'Diver' as an example.
