What is the meaning of this term, pls?

There was a term thrown around on the playground when I was growing up in So Cal: P-nche wada (I'm spelling it like it sounded). Can someone enlighten me? Related to P-nche gringo? Does it push the same buttons that P-nche gringo does for some people? Just curious. Zoe:?:

Could be...I didn't speak Spanish at the time, so my memory of the sound is probably faulty...I thought it sounded like the "guada" in Guadalajara, but I can see how guera (with the umlaut over the u) could have sounded the same way to me.

So what does guera mean? (And what do you call the umlaut in Spanish?)
