Tecate to San Felipe

I have read that there is alot of traffic at the intersection of Lopez Mateos at Lazaro Card##as coming through Mexicali. Is the traffic at the intersection bad from Tecate as well? What is the quickest way to get from Tecate to San Felipe with the construction?

From Tecate to San Felipe follow hwy 2 to Mexicali to hwy 5 to San Felipe. The construction is minimal for where your going. Follow the signs and you'll be OK.

For a more interesting route go east from Tecate on the free road to the Santa Veronica turn off. It's a sand road and I wouldn't recommend a car unless it has high clearence. Follow this road south to hwy 3. Turn left on hwy 3 to hwy 5 to San Felipe. This is the simple instructions. You'll need a more detail description as you approch hwy 3 which I can provide if you want.
