This weeks TEAM Summary

60 Team Captains report the following numbers for this period:

7 Blue Marlin
26 Striped Marlin
1 Pacific Sailfish
9 Yellowfin Tuna
31 Dorado
1 Wahoo
2 Roosterfish
3 YellowTail
4 Triggerfish
4 Boats were skunked

Catching has improved considerably! We were thrilled to see a good variety of the food chain. Still finding unusual conditions with catches of unseasonal YellowTail. They are delicious so no complaints. A good number of "acrobats of the ocean" dorado were caught this week - many know dodos as "mahi mahi". They are scrumptious prepared so many ways! Whats your favorite? Some Yellowfin "Ahi" were caught this period.

Big Game Deepsea Sportfishing is a real team effort! Our crews know what they are looking for and have asked we let our guests know their input is valuable and welcome too! They suggest keeping your eyes alert and on the lookout when you are aboard ~ Captains and mates watch for signs of what you are hunting. Frigate birds can be an indicator of fish - some say the height above the water surface of a frigate is linked to depth of the fish below. Watch for fins - a sure sign of a fish! Flying fish airborne may be that they are being chased by another in their food chain. Yellowfin tuna can be found in a 'boil'. The water appears to be boiling with their frenzied activity of feeding. Tho your eyes may not be as fine-tuned as the boys who spend most days year round hunting on the water, you are an integral part of The Team!

Some highlights of this period:

New amigos Kevin Ward, Lee Ward and John Ward visited from Garden Valley, Idaho and had a fantastic day with us aboard our panga "OSO BLANCO" - they released 1 Striped Marlin and boated 4 Dorado + 1 Yellowfin Tuna.

Stillwater, Oklahoma is home for amigos Kelli and Dominic Barrett. Two days with us aboard our newest Team Boat our 31' Bertram "CABO MAGIC Dos" produced 4 Dorado.

Amigo Greg Woolworth from Grover Beach, California released a large Striped Marlin fishing with us aboard our 31' Bertram "CABO MAGIC Dos".

Corporate amigos MP Express of Boston, Massachusettes released a Striped Marlin.

A Blue Marlin estimated at 350# was successfully fought and released by amigos Chris Felton, Kai Felton, Casey Felton, Paul Newvig, Yasu Yukawa of Pasadena, California, fishing with us aboard our flagship, 35' Bertram Sportfisher "CABO MAGIC". Congratulations!

Amigo Mike Kovach of Columbus, Ohio released a Blue Marlin fishing with us aboard our 28' "YAYO I" - A dream come true!

Amigos Mike Martarelli and chums from Arizona State Univ released one Striped Marlin and boated 2 Yellowfin Tuna fishing with us aboard the 38' "RONDINELLA" with new engines.

Amigo Brian Isbell of Chico, Texas released 1 Blue Marlin fishing with us aboard our newest Team Boat our 31' Bertram "CABO MAGIC Dos".

Fishing with us aboard Team Boat 38' "ADRENALINE" amigos Michael & Melanie Gee, Spencer & Carrie South, John & Blair Newman visiting from Leeds, Alabama released one Pacific Sailfish. This was the only Pacific Sailfish for the team period and Captain Morro says it was very large for the species!

We were proud and pleased to welcome aboard amigos Steve Nieto, Stephen Nieto, Nicholas Nieto of the Architectural Firm South West Concepts of La Quinta, California.
