Moving Pets to Mexico
I am moving to Cabo San Lucas in October and I am looking to move my two cats with me. I will be flying in and not by car and I am looking for the
easiest way to get them shipped to me or to fly back and get them.
Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to get this done?
Thanks!

You would have to check with your airline about their regulations.
They should have all the info for you about shots and other requirements or check with the Mexican Consulate in your area.
I have flown and driven with dogs and have never been asked for anything but I was always prepared just in case.

I have never done the airplane thing either except when I could keep them in the cabin with me.
John
You might want to check into bringing them down one at a time in the cabin with you. I know a place to kennel one while you get the other one down
here.
I dont believe that the airlines will let you have 2 in the cabin with you.

I do not have the time to care for a dog and there is no way I am giving up my cats, especially moving to an entirely new place on my own. I will get
them there somehow.

Cat Transport
Aboard Alaska Airlines your pets can fly with you in the cabin if you fly first class and buy airline approved kennel carriers. $100 per ticket and
worth it if they are family to you.
As of November 2004 out of McCarran only America West flies direct and nonstop to SJD Airport - best to check with them directly. Under no
circumstances fly your pets in the baggage compartment.

I love dogs too, I am just always traveling and that would be way too hard for me at this point in life. One day when I settle down I will get me a
dog but for now just cats. The official lazy persons pet.
