The 15th & 16th of October. Arrived at 7:00pm on Saturday night. And yes, experienced the grumblings of Tony with "kitchen is closed" and "no
rooms tomorrow". I pointed to the sign that states it's open until 8:30pm and all the shrimp dishes heading to the multiple tables. They were so kind
to offer burritos and quesadillas. I think he was irked by the huge fiesta going on at Papa Fernadez. In the end it all worked out.

This is a friend, you have to jump in the water to get to the other side. On the lower right side you may be able to see the line we used to climb
back (it was already there! Thanks to the person who left it there).

Thanks Omar and Roverdude for the photos!
Hiking up the Santa Maria canyon from the Gonzaga Bay side, one reaches surface water pools less than a mile from the roadhead, past the Las Palmitas
jcn.
It is very exciting to see so much water in the desert... year round!

Do you have the GPS WPT's on the start and the pool?

Yes, I have lot's of waypoints as does Don Jorge who hiked the El Camino Real up to the mission and then back down via the canyon, and that pool Omar
showed... See Don Jorge's web page: http://www.southcoastfarms.com/gonzaga_to_mission_santa_mari...
and mine of the area: http://www.vivabaja.com/missionsm/index.html
