Need race Info

Does anyone know if prerunners will be using the cutoff road between Valle Trinidad and Highway 1 on Wednesday the 9th.? I would like to use it heading south that day but don't want to be out there with the perunners.Since I have been out of the race scene for 2 years I don't remember when they stop prerunning.

Since the race itself is on the 18th, expect prerunners right up to that day, Max.

Pre run dates

Max'
I expect pre runners could show up anytime prior to start of race. Turn your head lights on, go slow watch for dust ahead and be alert. Have fun !

We will be in Animas Wed the 9th. Will we see you their ?

Max,
My guess is that you will definitely encounter pre-runners on that road on 11/9. Although the PRs will be going east-west (i.e. overtaking you) there is the occasional idiot who decides it's okay to "pre-run" backwards, as in the last 500 when some klutz did exactly that and caused injury to a bike rider.

Prerunners

Thanks Everyone!
Butch & Corky, After measuring the time, distance, and traffic to go around we have decided to just air down and go via 5 out to Coco's and 1 , its washboarded and dusty but much less nerve racking and even if it takes 6 hours its still a time saver so we will leave in the morning and meet you at Las Animas, watch for blue plastic streamers at the turn off and at the other intersections in the Animas complex. It is so dry you can take the north side acess road with no problem, its easier , especialy after dark. Look out clams!
