thanksgiving in BOLA

Left for the border sat. the 19th at 5:30a.m. Hit the border at noon, thought I was going to hit alot 1000 traffic going through ensenada but sailed right thru. My wife saw big blue letters (DESERTBULL) on the side of a white dodge as we pulled up next to tim's chase truck told them to tell Tim hi. (congrats on the race Tim). Got to El Rosario at about 8 that night and stayed at the Cactus motel. Second time to stay there and it is just as everybody has reported on this board very nice. Made bola by noon got diesel and supplies and got to camp by 1 p.m. . Little windy that afternoon but glassed off the next three days. Didn't get to take my boat out fixed one problem from the trip before (cabuerator) and encountered another the impeller exploded as i fired up the boat to check the carb out, with out the boat and all the extra time got lots of fix-it stuff out of the way and Kids got to learn how to drive the tracker to town (very scary). Thanksgiving day woke up to lots of clouds and thunder and it started to rain quite a bit just before dinner was served the palapa worked well for cover as we had close to 25 people over for dinner.
Next few days were just as nice as the first few left the camp at about one on saturday and made cocos at 3:30 spent about thirty minutes visiting and then preceded to san felipe got there at about 8p.m. road was in good condition.
border wait in Mexicali was about an hour and 15 minutes at nine in the morning not bad i figured but ran into all the toy-haulers coming home from the desert what a nightmare as it was bumper to bumper for about 130 miles up the 10.
All in all a great trip will try to post some pictures.

Phil,
Sounds like you had a Great trip. Taught the kids How to drive the Tracker?? LOL..including Ellie?? Too funny picturing her standing up on the seat, her little arms stretched out as wide as they can, holding onto the steering wheel, giggling like a little girl possesed!! Are you going to make it for New Years? Thanks again for the pictures of my place. How did the motorhome do on the drive to San Felipe? (and they said I was Crazy for driving mine to Gonzaga!!)

Hi Stevo

Yes we had a great trip even without the boat. Ellie didn't drive by herself but she did sit in my lap and steer, Nick and Katie learned to drive on their own and had a blast. Kids even did alot of swimming. No didn't take the mo-ho this trip
I have been leaving the tracker down there, took down a new truck and broke it in. We are trying to figure out when we will be down there newyears for sure, probably a few days before and the week after.

see you soon

love beaking in those brand new trucks, missed another trip but youll be hearing those bottle caps popping early in the mourning this xmas. you failed to mention that it was a brand new f-250 diesal 4x4 dirt road busting quad cab truck, the only thing missing from the cab is that good old smell of hoyos wrapped in a maduro wrapper. but theres plenty of time for that and the spilled beer. great report bud.:bounce::coolup:
