And now, the rest of the story
I posted half of this picture on another thread and people seemed to like it so I thought I would post the whole thing here-all 8 photos taken in the
early 80's.
Here is the rest of the story:
My girlfriend and I rode small motorcycles up there to take this photo. It was cloudy that day and I almost didn't take it. Always planned to go back
and take another on a clear day but never did. Now to go back up there I would need to have at least one million dollars in my pocket. Anyway, as
Lenore and I were riding our little motorbikes thru Cabo we got pulled over by the police. My bike was brand new and didn't have plates on it. It did
have the paper license in the license plate holder but that wasn't good enough. When the cop checked the temporary registration he saw that the dealer
had filled it out in pencil instead of pen and that caused him concern. He said we needed to follow him to the police station , which we did. We told
the chief of police that the bike was new and thats the paperwork that was given to me. My spanish is/was no bueno but my girlfriend spoke some. The
chief eventually seemed satisfied with our story then started saying something that we didn't understand. We new he wanted something but we just
didn't understand. Finally in frustration he pulled out his pistol and started pointing to it. I was more than a little concerned and was wondering
what the heck Lenore had said to him. As it turned out it was a .22 pistol and he only wanted to know if we had any bullets that we could sell to
him. Boy was I relieved. We didn't have any bullets and even if we did he would be the last person I would admit that too. I've always felt it would
be better to be caught with drugs in Mexico than with guns/bullets.

What a cool photo, or collection of photos. The last time I spent any considerable time in Cabo was in 1981. I have never wanted to go back because I
don't want to ruin those memories of a small village, the mango margaritas up at the Whale Watchers bar, the huge empty white beach below, the thump
of my backpack as the van we were riding in ran over it and continued on down the long driveway. Walking all the way back up to the hotel to look for
my backpack after I discovered it missing at an Italian restaurant down the road. I missed dinner and never found my backpack. The next day I explored
around a somewhat abandoned type street of empty shops looking for someone who could wire the states for me so I could ask my parents to send more
money. It seemed like we could walk everywhere one needed to go in Cabo at that time, as the town felt so small.

You know, with the right photo software (like Elements or Photoshop), you can remove those lines between photos and make it look like a single photo.
I do it all the time for my panoramic shots

Cool. Hey Mike, thanks for the advice, a guy like me needs lots of advice. In this particular case I decided to post it with all the lines so people
could kinda get the idea that maybe they could take basic panos themselves. We can teach them how to stitch panos together later. I use AutoStitch, by
the way, its a free program that works well.

Wow! Look at all that open space around the harbor in the two rightmost images.
Paulina, that's how I remember it too in 1983. There were virtually no restaurants around the water. As I recall there was a sort of pier or landing
area for the cruise ships and a bunch of taco stands clustered there. We spent 2 days waiting for the ferry to arrive from the mainland on our trip.
It was delayed and we ended up driving to La Paz and going to Mazatlan. We also drove up that dirt road on the right to Finisterra and sat around in
the warm sand enjoying a few beers.
