They don't recharge the RV units, you have to replace the whole coil cooling system, friends of ours had it done in the states Prox. $600 no one in
Baja can do it to the best of my knowledge.

Nope! We bought a cooling unit from a guy in Ensenada. He was a Crook! Paid him $450.00 and it never did work. Another friend had the same experience
with him! Yes, you do not re-charge them , they do take a cooling unit replacement, yes it's tricky at times to do and spendy too!(husband was in RV
business several years so rerplaced lots of them.) Our neighbor is just now waiting for a replacement unit for his from RV repair here in SF.As I
recall it is costing him like $600 plus labor.

I had my RV refrigerator recharged about 6 years ago and it is still going strong, so yes, they can be recharged. I am sure it depends on the year
and model. This one was out of a 1972 Winnebago 5th wheel trailer.
When I got there he said it would be $500 and suggested I buy one of the replacements he had. I said no because all the newer ones take 12v power and
I only had propane at this installation. Plus I would have had to make another one fit which ment remodeling.
At any rate, they cut the pipe open once the ammonia leaked our, they sealed it and charged it back up.
It wasn't in Baja, I had to take it to Pomona. If you are interested I U2U me and I will look up the invoice.
