Motorcycle Maps
Myself and two friends are going to motorcycle the length of the Baja peninsula in June, starting from San Diego on XR 650's. I was wondering where I
could get some good maps that show the trails and dirt roads we could ride on. Thanks for the help.

You also may want to go to www.rlh.com and print out the Baja 1000 race course maps and course notes that went to La Paz, 2002 and 2004. That will give you ideals on the
route to take then use the almanac for the exact roads etc. Don't pass a chance for gas, you never know if the next station has any.

When will the GPS guide #2 be out? It seems like it's been so long in coming that all the routes will be washed out before it's out.

Baja GPS Guidebook Volume 2 2006-01-01
Pre-orders will start in March 2006. This guide includes new routes in the north that will blow your Fox socks off and picks up where Volume 1 left
off at San Ignacio and takes you all the way to Cabo San Lucas in a loop and back up. I've never had so much fun making some of these new routes....
especially in and around the central part of Baja!! You'll be so happy after each ride, you'll cry! hehhe hah ha ha.

The V2 Guide is a supplement to V1 and its pages will be organized amongst V1's pages. You must have V1 to understand, use, and organize V2. For
information on V1, click on "Volume 1 Contents" on the left side menu.
Volume 2 will include many new routes in the north from Rancho Santa Veronica, Rancho Tecate AND there are a few surprise routes from Puertecitos to
Catavina and up to El Rosario from Catavina on the west coast as well as some other beach routes that will be added to the routes in the north.. Where
V1 stopped at San Ignacio, routes will continue south to Cabo San Lucas. Between the two guidebooks, the entire Peninsula is covered from tip to tail
with many options to construct hundreds of different trips. V2 also offers new stories, photos, and updated information for V1.

I've got that book. Joe Parkhurst did an excellent job putting it together. I met him once, early 90's, at Mike's Sky Ranch, very interesting and
knowlegable.
