Aldo Santini's "Catavina.com"
http://www.catavina.com/
Aldo Santini of Giorgio Santini Art Gallery set up this website to show the 2000 hectares that his family owns as an ecological preserve. Hiking and
camping is permitted. Great site!

Not sure how much Aldo charges for camping in Catavina. But, Santa Inez is close enough to the highway that you do hear the braking and throttle of
the big rigs all night...

Depends on how well you sleep! Santa Ynez is almost a mile from Mex. 1... Or drive out the arroyo on the road to Santa Maria to get further away.
I sleep so well at Baja Cactus in El Rosario that the jake brakes don't wake me... Which will not be a problem anymore as Antonio was successful in
getting topes (speed bumps) installed by the gas station so the trucks will have to slow down before passing in front of the motel rather than after!

From the map on his website, it looks like the camping sites are just as close, if not closer to the highway as Santa Ynez is. Plus the trucks are
going to be gearing up/down for the arroyo crossing nearby.
I saw that geodome and enterance to his place last time I was down there and wondered about it. Now I know. But it doesn't look like there's room for
an RV of my size. Plus I like the food there so I'll stick to the ranch for now.

Suzanne, Chris, Miriam, and I spent the afternoon with Aldo yesterday. He's been very busy and has not been checking his email. If you have any
questions he has not answered, I will see him for 3 days on the Baja Pole Line 4WD trip in 2 weeks. My email is: ken@rubiconowners.com
