eetdrt88....cinder block prices
I can tell you last years prices at Mulege block-maker, Sr. Castro's...I doubt the prices would be that much different in San Felipe or have changed
much in a year's time.
I paid 4800 pesos for 600 reg. size block delivered 20 miles. Hope that helps you.
I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me.

Speaking of Block
Have any of you Mulege "locals" seen any Gringo style cinder block for sale in the area?
You know the ones that are open on the tops and bottom so you can run rebar verticals and grout them .
All the Mex block I've seen has a lid on one surface and seem to crumble easily due to poor manufacture and materials. From what I understand , beach
sand , coral and salt are about the last things you want to put into cement .
Thanks
Lero

Best block maker in Mulege area is Noel Santana...followed by Castro Bros. They build whatever you want....and as strong as you want.

Thanks Pompano
There's block and then there is block.
Here is a picture of a "gringo" style block for those who have never pondered the difference. 8" x 8" x 16"

And here is what can happen in an overly stiff wind to block that haven't been filled properly with rebar and grout.

And just in case any one is interested there is a little joke amoungst Mexicans that if you don't have a key to get in a house all you really need is
a popote- to dig thru the cinder block wall

Wasn't that wall in the USA in Osprey Lakes Fla.???
Santa Rosalia just had a 7.0 quake with no damage...that anyone noticed at least.
They KNOW how to build block stuff

Mi Bloques
These are well-made cement blocks done by Sr. Castro of Mulege. The right recipe of cement and aggregate is the key. Made by that family, most of
my house blocks are now over 30 years old and holding strong against nature's erosion.
If I can locate on old photo of mine, I will post a picture of a young 16-year-old using a homemade block maker & shaker that we manufactured for
him to start a business long ago. He is now a neighbor..and lifelong friend aged 48 now.
The old wives tales of using beach sand are greatly exaggerated...except for that time when......
