quick trip to bola?

will be in ensenada for 11 days soon and am thinking about a quick run to bahia de los angeles. am looking for opinions about a 3 day trip to the bay. travel on day 1, play on day 2, travel on day 3. do you think it is about a 6-7 hour trip from ensenada? i have emailed camp gecko about camping there, but haven't heard back. what are the changes that are going on? thanks for information and suggestions.

Depends on what you are driving... For me, in a Toyota, not towing, it is 3.5 to El Rosario from Ensenada and another 3.5 to Bahia de L.A.... ie. 7 total with a stop for fuel at Baja Cactus, El Rosario and maybe add 30 min. for lunch at one of the many, many taco stands and restaurants in El Rosario.

If it is the first time in the central desert then you will want to take photos of the giant cardon and cirio (boojum) trees... take the short hike to see the beautiful painted cave 2 miles north of Catavi?a... and there is so much more!

Why push it?
You probably don't want a roadside memorial with your name on it.
Take it easy, take your time; maybe spend 2 days in Bahia de Los Angeles.
Enjoy your trip, scenery and please post a trip report.

From Ensenada at that time of day that should be a piece of cake. You'll have all day to play day one, too.

it takes me 10 hours in a motorhome with 2 gas stops no matter how hard we push. enjoy the drive and try to get off the road before dark.
