Jalisco?


I know this is the name of a state in Mexico,just wondering if it is has any other meaning...I tried a few translation sites and got nothing so i'm figuring it doesn't

From the History of Jalisco:


The name "Jalisco" is believed to be derived from the Nahuatl words "xalli" (sand, gravel) and "ixtli," which means "face," or by extension, plane. Thus, the word Jalisco would literally mean "sandy place."
