Bonded Freight Broker

When one moves to Mexico with an FM 3 and takes advantage of the one time opportunity to import house hold goods, free of duty. would it not be prudent to use a freight broker. If you imported more than $1,000. per person? are you required to go to specific crossing and is a freight broker required.

If so, how does one pick a broker (recommendation) and how do they base their charges.

See this thread: http://forums.bajanomad.com/viewthread.php?tid=13344#pid1122...

If you have a Menaje de Casa, you will have to get a customs broker.

Subastador
You had it easy.

It took us 4 days. Too long a story to tell here.

Wrong info by the embassay, Changed the paperwork requirements, holiday, power outage, you name it.

The kicker is I caused a 3 car accident in the middle of TJ. No problimo.

We had to stop on the uphill by the border to check the trailer and found major hitch problems. 4 guys were trying to steal things from the trailer. I had an ax in my hand trying to repair the hitch when I went to investigate the thieves. They ran. All this in the dark.
