Whale watching near Loreto

I have heard of a place that one can drive to that's not far from Loreto that charges about $ 20 to take you out to see the whales. Anybody know where that is? since the whales had a late start this year getting to Baja is it possible that there will be whales as late as May? This place is a much easier drive than San Ignasico Lagoon. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Bajame,

I flew to Laguna San Ignacio a couple days ago and the runway was closed. I assume that their "whale season" is over. From the airplane we did not see any whales in the lagoon near the airport. We did see some amazing breaching whales rolling over to expose their white bellies just off shore at Punta San Francisquito on the gulf side. Someone said that these were blue whales.

Bajame,
There are whales all around the Loreto area. That must be what they meant. However, you will have a hard time finding anyone to take you anywhere for $ 20.00. Nowadays a panquero won't even start his engine for $ 20.00.For just whalewatching ,you be lucky to stay below $ 100.00
