Returning with gasoline?
Will the BP be unwilling to let me return to the USA with 10 gal. of gasoline in my gerry cans? The prices 20km south of the border are just too
attractive to pass up!

Never heard of a problem heading north.
Remember 20K south of the border regular is 6.27p per L
closer to the border it's higher

Sorry, can't resist
Just hide the cloth fuses until you get there.

Frank,
Where are you getting the Transfer tank for Diesel. I was considering the same thing but have no recommendations. I live in Valley Center, now.

The last time we went through this gas BS(1970's) I had a Toyota that I could fill up in Rosarito, drive to San Fransisco and back to L.A. without
filling up. Never a problem crossing the border but it did become difficult to fill the extra tank-- as the attendent tried to explain to me that I
could only fill the main tank--smile, wave and looked confused until the job was done. Funny--I have always hated lines.
This time I wonder if you will really save any money.
I had mine fabricated out of 1/4 steel because in those days it was not uncommon for the nice folks back home to just pierce you gas tank with a good
knife and let the gas drain into a pan.
Gas goes up much further that could start happening again!
Heck! It is almost worth stealing the whole car just to get the gas now.

Diesel is about $1.77 a gallon in Baja. Doesn't take long at this price difference to really add up.
Since I drive old pos truck, I have a 25G tank off a semi in the bed with a small elect pump to transfer to one of the regular tanks. (Have a shell
on it too)

Paying $2.26 versus $3.26/gallon? Big difference!
