Jim, they have a big camping area along the river. There is a phone number for Mike's on the bottom of the course map...

We love Mikes, but his pricing in recent years has come from something he as seen in Ads associated with the Ritz....way over priced...PERIOD

Mike's prices

We were at Mike's this past Monday and asked about rates.

The place was spotless, bathrooms clean, a guy painting some trim.

Room price quoted to us was $50 per person per night which includes dinner and breakfast - I believe family style as in the past.

We ate lunch, good burritos, at two bucks apiece. A "lunch plate" burritos (two or three) , rice, beans was seven dollars.

There was no one there but us - although we did see one fellow headed up that way with gasoline, we guess to pit for some bikes.

We didn't ask about motel reservations.

Camping - plenty available, nice shade trees along the stream - we asked and were told $5.00 per vehicle.

Another option?? the sign in the attached photo was at the intersection of Simpson's Ranch Road and the road to Mike's in from the west - about 3 miles west of Mike's Sky Ranch. We hadn't stopped at El Coyote.

Good info....hope to meet up with a group on Friday and join them...the plan (I think) is to get as far as Mike's and camp for the night...

Anybody know the altitude there? Just wondering how cold it could get at night.

Temps

Map shows it about 1,400 meters - and what's that? Maybe 4,600 feet? Mid day temps were warm - high 80s - we stayed the previous evening at Meling Ranch, lower by a couple of thousand feet and it was very comfortable. I'd guess very early mornings it could get down to the low 50s at Mikes this time of year =
