Day without an American, protest march in Mulege

Hundreds of illegal U.S. citizens marched through down town Mulege yesterday carrying American flags and singing the Mexican national anthem in English with a few words changed. it scared the local police who thought that Mexico had been invaded and had surly fallen to the Gringos. the police were last seen running in to the surrounding hills. the protest ended when the local immigration officers showed up and started checking papers.

long story, sorta short-

last tuesday at the yuma proving ground the border patrol/ice showed up in unmarked vehicles and one van. after fanning out across the job and checking everyone out (i'm proud to say i'm not canadian in their eyes! too hot for canadians this time of year, he said) they found two guys in need of a ride to the border.

the guy who was interviewing me said, in response to my questions, "remember their little march on may 1? it's gonna bite them in the ass. were going around to every constuction site we can find."

now the president is gonna put soldiers on the border? he must really be worried about his poll numbers, eh?

Bruce
I had no idea that it was soo easy to start international rumors. Next time you should get you family and neighbors to march around your house and you can take pictures of the protests to prove they happened. It doesn't matter if only ten people are in the picture, you still claim in the text that the marchers numbered in the thousands. It also doesn't matter if you are not actually in downtown Mulege, few people know what the place really looks like.

?Who were those Americans marching? Must have been beach people.
