carpet or roller
Time replace my worn out rusted carpeted bunks and brackets. Rather then replaceing with the same I am thinking about the roller bunks that are seen
in Bass Pro Master Catalog page 550 Item D.
These are not the u-shaped types. They are 4 or 5 foot long on galvanized steel tracks. I use my boat, 16 foot Klamath, 50hp Merc, a lot in Baja where
low tides can be an issue and also in lakes that have been low due to the drought here in the west. The roller guides would be much easier to launch
and recover. Does anyone have any experience with these? What are your thoughts pro and con?

I don't think rollers on an alum. boat would be a good idea. Instead use the teflon pads that scew onto the bunks, and have someone here in Mexico
convert it to a tilt trailer, then you can launch anywhere. Its what I have I know it works.

comitan is right it is the best way. the roller soon quit rolling with the sand and salt, also they have very little contact aria on the aluminium
boat and will soon Ware a hole in the boat on our ruff rodes

Doc, I just ordered bunk slides from http://www.kingtrailers.com These fit over the top of your existing bunk boards and slid really well. One of the guys in SLC had them and they
work great.
When you coming down?

I purchased 3-8' and 1- 10' $119 plus shipping. They are in the northwest and sell to dealers only. You might talk them into selling to you because
your out of state! On the web site go to "standard features" Give them a call.

theres a product called UHMW its a high impact plastic that is used for all kinds of slides including telascoping crain booms it can be sawed drilled
and screwed to what ever you like it can be bought from any industral supply and its pretty cheep my brother used on his 31 ft boat trailer and i
used it on several trailers it also make a hell of a cutting board

I already have teflon pads on my bunks now but was thinking of getting rollers as I said. Now from the psots I'll build new bunks, use my teflons and
maybe look into have a tilt tralers made as suggested by one reply. Waht I ve works pretty well but was lookin gfor an alternative that would make it
really easy.
I also already have a "baja wheel" so can really luanch just about anywhere.
And "where have I been"? Unfortunately not in baja. Had an injury and some unexpected truck repairs this winter and ate up most of my vacation money.
Probably won't go in the fall either. Looked at the numbers and if I stay healthy by this time next year I can be totally ou tof debt. Truck paid off,
boat and cc's too.
So will sacrifice one year. Hard to do though after all these years.
