They probably did it that way so the heavy equipment would not tear up the road that had just laid. Especially if they are only putting down a thin layer of pavement. It actually make sense to do it that way:saint:

Sure will change the area and that trip to La Barrancas is always a challange although I have only made it going north.

Road in great shape after storm


The paved part of the South road is still in perfect shape. They graded from Purisima Rio to the pavement almost two week ago. The pavement now extends into town. Still seems kinda of strange....
