Crate Motor
I know most of Chevy crate motors come from Mexico.
My guess is you would not have to import these. If you can get them and not have to import, does anyone know if they have crate motors for Jeeps?

There are a ton of Jeeps with small block chevy motors in them. Have you thought of doing a chevy motor?

Don't know about these motors, but many things manufactured in Mexico for US companies are not available in Mexico directly. They must go to the US
and then be imported into Mex if thats where they will be used. Example - Kirkland batteries.

Don, My jeep has over 200,000 and expect 300,000+ so jeeps have a very good engine. I am a big time Chevy guy, but in this case, i would feel like I
was fixing something that wasn't broke. It would be quite a ride though. Thanks

I am hoping this is not the case, because I feel like I should support Baja as much as I can.
Lou, Kirkland brand may not be a good example. Nobody except Costco can sell Kirkland. No Costco no Kirkland.
I think your point is valid, because I can see the Mexican government wanting the import tax even from their own citizens.
I was hoping someone had already tried to get one, but I'm in no hurry and I hope to be down in November.
Thanks Lou!

Al
I'm also interested if Chevy crate engines can be purchased in Mexico...I would hopefully want 3 to 5 at a time..also would be same need for the crate
transmissions.
I'm assuming you are talking about the 350/5.7L engine
I'd really like to know anything you find out.
Thanks
