The rookery. Great birding and fishing. Go out with Saul at the Feliz Camaron. He can take you to a place for fresh oysters and scallops...yummy. Be sure to take some limes.

Judy,

Your photos are a wonderful way to start the day, thank you !!

We had a blast and saw quite a few whales there three years ago.
We camped at a little beach just south of the whale boat area.
Many RV's just camp in the big parking area.
Careful where you drive !

bajajudy

How about a good place to camp w/ pick up/slide-on? also a place to launch small boat.

Was there years back and it seemed kinda ragged. any problems camping there. would really like to fish the back waters.
thanks Capt G

Where Diver suggested is where we camped (sunset shot)BUT on the weekends it becomes a parking place for couples. There is a place farther down but it is kinda isolated. I have only camped once. We always stay at Feliz Camaron.
This looks like a good place to launch a boat but I dont remember exactly where it is....sorry

George......... Here is where I usually launch if the tide is not too low. On a low tide you can still get in about 200 yds west of the end of the mangroves. I left my truck/trailer there by the river 12 or 15 times last Fall. There was never a problem with security. It is about a 7 mile run to Boca de Soledad and about 31nm more to Thetis. Lots of yellowfin, marlin and dorado on the way and wahoo on the Bank. The water is already warming up on Thetis, about a month early. I plan to get over there in the next week.
