On the way home from the El Rosario festival we spotted this modified Wagoneer in Ensenada...

David a couple of guys have done that to cherokees in denver , ,it don't give much x tra room if any and not lockable

no but it is a head turner. that is the main reason for some one to do that. also those wagoners had a bad habit of the rear window breaking every time you slammed the tail gate closed. and it took care of that:lol:

And some of the early cherokees and waggoneers had fibreglass hatches could be the reason .but i try not to haul pigs in the back usually let them ride in the front so i have someone to talk to

I had a 1975 1/2 Jeep Cherokee Chief.... basically a 2 door Wagoneer and the Chief package used Jeep J-10 truck axles and large wheel openings... Anyway, it had an electric rear window which was one of the first things to fail... the window motor was poorly welded to inside the tail gate and broke free preventing the rear window from working.

This photo taken in November 1975 heading towards San Felipe from Diablo Dry Lake (during the first Score Baja 1000).
