home depot ensanada or cabo

I need a generator and am looking at the Gardian 16kw for an emergency backup to my meter. Anyone have any experience with dealing with the home depo's south of the border, do they except credit cards etc... In the perfect world I would like to order it and pick it up on the way down in November. Only other option is to buy it up here and deal with the border and customs.

Thanks, Pacifica

Home Depot Ensenada takes credit cards. So does the Costco across the street (just make sure your membership is current, as they will check).

Home Depot Ensenada had pretty much everything that Alta Calif Home Depots have.

BUT..... I tried to order special items to be picked up in Ensenada. I had a terrible time convincing the Home Depot's North of the border that they Truly did Have an Ensenada store!! When I finally found a store manager that promised to help me in my endeavors he ran into the same brick wall as did I. Liittle or no cooperation with the Home Office. And No HD employee was capable of communicating with the store in Ensenada. Heck, I had to give them the phone number and tell them, how to dial it. I also tried their website. Yeah, yeah....the web site shows a store in Ensenada, but it (at that time) did nothing more than lay there. Ohhh..and it was ONLY in Spanish!! All the other HD store sights are in Spanish, French and English. No special orders, no email address, couldnt even check stock . We can check stock in the Alta stores.

With all this said, I totally enjoyed my visit with the Home Depot in Ensenada. Great customer service and a pretty good selection of needed merchandise. Also a very Secure parking lot. I was driving the motorhome and towing a 20' trailer behind. A guard came up to me befor exiting the vehicle and said he personally would guard it while I was inside. When I returned to the Moho he was still there, watching over it. Do be apprised that everything in the Ensenada store is measured in meters and kilos.
