Abreojos picks up a south/southwest swell so if we have any sort of late season southern hemisphere storm action you might see some sizable waves there. It is not uncommon to have a solid south swell at that time of year. You should bring some surfboards along too! I have never had a chance to surf there but I know it is a great wave.

It all depends on the weather. The surf starts to calm down that time of year but my neighbors there surf year around anyway. Best kayak fishing is usually in August.

It is a summer spot. It takes a south to get in there like BajaGeoff said. Should be pretty quiet swell wise that time of year. I was there for 10 days mid July. Got 10 days of good surf down from the point and razors. Razors only was working 1 evening and not very good. The point was so so. You can always get lucky.

You can launch your kayak numerous places right into the surf... or you can go to campo Rene (the estero) for quiet water.

La Bocana is an easy, short drive north.

Im sure you can. I drove up that way but did not go all the way to Asucion. I went 50 miles up from Abre. Road from la Bocana was rough wash board for quite a few miles.

Yes you can drive to Asucion from Abre. The road I descibed before does go all the way. Very well traveled so I doubt you will encounter any obstacles.

I stayed at Campo Rene in late May. Rooms $10/ night with a restaurant. I don't surf any more but the best break I saw was there off a reef. Just over the air strip and sand dune. We were exploring on ATV's and went both directions as far as possible. Really beautiful. It's a little difficult to access the beaches North. The manager said he was leaving but no ownership change so it should still be a great place. The road in is paved most if the way. After that it's good dirt. Have FUN!

Glenn

yes. still here. The fishing has hit a lull. Corvina should pick up again soon.

The shore was netted for halibut in July... so that died.

Around any of the reefs right off shore. Neighbors were fishing from surf boards with good luck last month. For whatever reason fishing is real slow right now.

rts551: thanks for the Great Picture of the Kid holding the "Flattie". Just look at the Smile on his Face!!Does it get any Better than That?

Jogged old memories when my Virginia and I took a Trip to San "G", My Mother took along her 12Lb. Bass Rod, fishing at the Mouth of the Estrury she caught a 25 Lb. Flattie!
Any late reports on "What is Happening" in that location?
From October to March the Lobster Fisherman were there, the rest of the time it was a very Lonely and Beautifull Place where you could catch lots of Cabrilla a Mile from the Beach.
