Calderon to be confrimed

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexico's electoral court will name ruling party conservative Felipe Calderon president-elect on Tuesday and reject claims the fiercely disputed July 2 presidential vote was unfair, sources said.
They said the court, made up of seven judges, would rule the election was clean and confirm Calderon's narrow victory over leftist Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, who alleges fraud.

"Everything appears to indicate the vote will be unanimous," a source close to the court said on Monday.

Jesse, don't hold back amigo... tell us what you really think!!!:lol::lol:

Anyway, congratulations to the PAN man, Felipe Calderon... Just like the last two elections in the U.S., the loser will be a crybaby instead of showing some maturity, which is what is needed to be president.

To the winner goes the spoils.....

Support for Obrador dwindling, but I 'll bet he sticks around and whines like some of the losers in the US....

Quote:
MEXICO CITY - In the days after ballot results showed him losing an agonizingly close presidential election, candidate Andr?s Manuel L?pez Obrador was in fine form, leading the largest rallies Mexico has ever seen and convincing most Mexicans of the need for a recount.

Six weeks later, the Mexican public has largely turned its back on the charismatic leftist, who has been transformed into a marginal figure -- to a degree even within his own party.

If the July 2 election were held now, conservative Felipe Calder?n would trounce L?pez Obrador by 24 percentage points, a recent newspaper poll showed.

If AMLO has nothing left to do, he can run across the border and clean toilets in San Diego. On his day off, he can march up and down the street, demanding his rights.

The New Calderon

I saw a story and photo Wednesday regarding Calderon's first speech as President-elect wherein he announced that his primary focus as President would be addressing "Poverty" as opposed to his campaign as the "Jobs" president. A glimpse of his pandering to the "Orbrador" constituency, rather than pointing out that Jobs creation WILL address the poverty problem.

The accompanying photo of Fox and Calderon illustrated that they both must buy their suits at the same discount warehouse. Perhaps it is a Mexican politician "thing". Since they can both afford to wear quality tailored garb, maybe they wear the ill-fitting clothes to "seem" to identify with the common man. Akin to the offensive practice of American politicians serving meals at homeless shelters.
