Make sure and file off the sights!

So when the fellow you shoot it with, jams it up your "Back Side", it wont hurt as much. :o:o:o

"were you confident of the outcome?" Dennis--yes I was pretty sure of the outcome. What I didn't count on was the x-ray machine at LAX picking it up in my seabag. I had it sourrounded by metal objects. However, it was no big deal with them. Incidentally, to all concerned that I took it down for self protection, that never was a consideration. I just like to target shoot at the dogs that insist on using my fenced in yard for their bano. I shoot them in the as- to discourage them from coming on my lot. Hope that doesn't upset all the animal rights activists out there on the board. If I have to go to a gunfight, I will find an AK-47. If they take that to shove up anything I will probably be dead at the time.

As to the damage factor some of these guns can cause I believe many of you are way off base.

There are BB guns like your Red Ryder's that are good for just goofing off with little real threat to a person except the eye damage aspect, Christmas Story comes to mind.

Then there are Air Rifles. This can kill a person pretty easy. I am no expert, but as a youngster, I took all sorts of small game with my Sheridan Blue Streak and it would go through a squirrels head at a 100' feet (all the way through) and it was nothing really special compared to some of the high dollar ones available.

To a country boy like me it was awesome. A lot lighter than lugging around my .410 or .22 and cheaper too, these things were important to 9 year old.

Plus it was quiet and very accurate. Have the knock down of a .357 or .44mag? Heck no, but harmless? I think not!!!

If you pull a toy gun on someone with a real gun, there's a high probability that they will shoot you with the real gun. As far as shooting dogs etc. with a BB gun goes, they'll wise up. Have tried it! Teaches the dogs to be very sharp. :tumble:
