River depth and course in Mulege
Anyone know how the flood changed the dynamics of the existing riverbed? Is it deeper? Scoured out? Deep mud? Channels? Does it now flow in and out on
both sides of the lighthouse? Photos don't say much.

It cleaned it out pretty good . and it is on both sides of the lighthouse but that will close again with time. the channel has changed in many places
and allot back in the ranches.

that was not actually a dam and in my opinion did not effect the flood in any way. it was a diversion that was designed to raise the level of the
river about 6 feet so they could run the water down the irrigation ditches on both sides of the river.

Not looking to stir up trouble Bruce , but a restriction in the river THAT raises or increases the volume of water behind said restriction is a dam.
When a dam (or restriction) breaks it's additional volume adds to the power of the river.
Don't know how wide the river was there but considering how much water was in the pictures, 6' of water higher up, would not matter much.
