Unintended Consequences
An article in today's "Los Angeles Socialist Peoples Daily World" aka "The Los Angeles Times" details the dramatic jump in Ransom Kidnappings in
Tijuana. Because the Arellano Felix Drug Cartel has lately suffered a decline in profits due to arrests and killings, they have now branched out into
the Kidnapping business, abducting primarily Well-Off Mexican Businessmen. Those kidnapped are brutalized during their captivity and often killed
even when the ransom is paid. The kidnappings are rarely reported to the Local Police because they are often involved with the Kidnappers. One
industry that has boomed as a result is that of Private Bodyguard businesses.

Hey MrBill ----
The perps have refined their techniques. They dont even have to commit the crime. They just threaten their victim and demand payment before the
fact. I know of one important grower, legitimate farmer, who is staying safe in the states due to one of these threats. Maybe they should try that
with banks.

What's even scarier, there are now mini-secuestros, where the kidnappers demand as little as $500. No one is off limits, it seems.
