I had one of those as a pet. First day I got him I opened his box and said "Let's go for a walk." He just sat there, so I said, again "Let's go for a walk." Nothing. Third time, a little louder I said "Let's go for a walk." He looked up and said "I heard you the first time, I'm putting my shoes on.":tumble:

in San somewhere surfing years ago, I got my wetsuit on and was about to zip it up....I felt something not so nice around the big fella, quickly took the suit off and one of those buggers (a purple one) came flyin out..I was told they can deliver quite a bite..it was about 6 inches long! (before the cold water got to it:lol:)

any good centipede bite stories out there?? effects??

What do you get if you cross a centipede and a parrot?

A walkie talkie!

p.s. great photo, Don Alley. What amazes me is that I have never seen one that I can remember...and we have been knocking around Baja for quite some time now. This could be due to the high amount of returnables to the Pacifico depots.

Very cool shot! Scolopendra spp.? I've read they can live up to six years - how many pairs of sneakers will one go through? :bounce:
