Do you have a picture of this door?
I've seen others. Can you contribute to the evolution of the ice house door in Loreto?

No, but a good photo. It has a lot of attributes. Originally I thought you should crop out the roof eaves, but when I held a white card over that,
it seemed a bit too stark. I like it fine as it is. The "center" is in the upper right quadrant of the door, which makes the eye search a bit for
focus, and it scans from the very white wall, to the very black hole in the door (very Ansel Adams of you!) and then to the surrounding bright
colors.
I also like the disconnect you get from the very classic Americana "ICE", along with the "NO PASAR." It's really two photos, I think. The door as an
interest story in itself (which would be great alone with everything else cropped out), and the broader story of the wall and all it suggests. Nice
job.

Thanks Bruno:
If we get the the contribution of the photos that I think are out there among the Nomads, the progressive destruction of the door, one icepick mark at
a time is the REAL story of the evolution of the door.
I think that would make an interesting montage.

I live in Loreto, but I'm stumped-- I don't know where that ice house is.
But in the open door pictures I see a subtle calavera. Very November 2nd!

Paula: Going west on Salvatierra, keep going straight at El Nido, with the ball park on your right, the ice house is on your left. For those who may
not know, this is "dirty" ice. It is used for cooling only, and should never be put in a drink.

I'll have to go have a look, maybe take a picture. Glad to know that the ice in my drinks isn't coming from there With that face on the door!

Many years ago we would buy our ice blocks at the old icehouse for no mucho dinero. You could fill a giant cooler for about 75 cents. We used it
for everything....including c-cktails I do not miss using that ice these
days!
