road graded from Abreojos to Asuncion
The coast road from Pta. Abreojos to Bahia Asuncion has just been graded and is in pretty good shape...it is still rough in the usual spots south of
San Hipolito and has some dips in the arroyos after the big rain but it's decent now most of the way. Also the water was about 74 degrees here
yesterday, just awesome for surfing, swimming etc. but does present a danger for next year's abalone season...ni modo

Just drove the road yesterday....the paved road is a bit worse than in July....be careful of the potholes as you leave Vizcaino. The dirt road is in
pretty good shape, though. There are some washouts on the edges of the road but are marked with tires or wood. I averaged about 35-45 mph.
Enjoy!

Thanx, we have a 4x4 landcruiser, so I'm not to worried about getting stuck or anything, and the big ol' monster doesn't go to fast, but it sure does
get us to where we want to go!!

Thanks for the update
I was just about to post something asking how the Abreojos-Ascuncion road had survived hurricane Paul. Sounds like it is okay!! Three of us are
planning to head that way the week of November 23. We'll be leaving La Paz on Monday and heading to Pta. Abreojos. Then on to Ascuncion. Any
recommended camping along the way? We'll probably stop in Ascuncion a day or so and can camp or maybe take a room if available.
Just one more week before we head south!! Yeah!

there are lots of places to camp but if ya want a Mexican experience, stop in to see Bimbo(beembo) and Tita (teeta) and their boys iin San Hipolito.
You will have a blast and can camp with them on the beach. Looking forward to showing you around our digs! Yesterday the water was 84 degrees!!
