I also taped it.. but was disappointed. Seemed like a lot more advertising than actual race footage... but I stayed up all night west of San Ignacio and saw them all come through... being there can not compare.

It was not for the fan, but as Kens post says they hit the target. At least Troutwick can pronounce the names of the towns, though not the racers. I do wish that someone would explain to him the difference between a car and a truck. Hearing class 1 truck made me want to scream. I hope that when the Aura 360 contract goes up that someone steps up with some quality TV. Bay of LA footage was all from the Gonzaga area as Bay of La was all in the dark for the 4 wheel vehicles. Last year we had to hear O-Joes Nee-groos so I guess I should be happy about that. The scenery did make my Mom order me to get a new motor in my Dads CJ so they could hit the desert again!

sorry for the rant......

I thought the coverage was good. Lot's of bike stuff which in the past usually didn't exist. I do wish they would have had short interviews with the racers at the fish line. Maybe even some how they'r built segments instead of just "they've got 800 HP". The video of Baldwin crossing Diablo dry lake and they said he was going 160mph, I think is a little over the top. Reminds me of the ABC coverage of the 1987 1000 saying the racers were going from sea level to over 8000 ft when they went over the summit. Let's try 4000+ft. But it sounds good on TV.

Saw it as well and can only give the show a C-... Too much interviewing and too little race coverage. Showing the bikes going slow wasn't impressive either. Too much time on the Challenger class and none on Class 11 (or any others except M/Cs, Trophy Trucks and Class1).

To be fair, you can't do much with an 18-43 hour race in only 1 hour (with commercials for BFG and Garmin taking 1/4 the air time)... Little coverage is better than no coverage.

Yes, I too was yelling "That's not L.A. Bay!"

Hey, but how about the Chargers???!!! WE'RE #1!!!

Yes, some coverage is better than none, I guess they have to assume that 95% of the viewers have never been there and know little.

My nephew was sure we were doing " a Buck Twenty" across the lakebed last year on my YZF so Baldin doing 160 should be no problem!
